I have been a graphic designer since graduating college in June of 2018 with an understanding of web development. I know my way around Adobe XD for web design, InDesign for print material, Illustrator for vector graphics, and Photoshop for raster images.

I've been in the graphic design field since 2018 to present. I was the sole graphic designer from March 2020 to January 2023 at a marketing agency in Northern Minnesota. I've learn how to manage mass workloads, manage time to finish them and determine what projects took precedence over the others. I've been experimenting with the AI programs that have been coming out recently.
I have a few things to keep me busy when I'm not at the computer. Yes, I like the typical stuff: movies, shopping, and hanging out with friends. I'm also into jewelry making with beads, canoeing in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area of Minnesota, and a Sheltie lover. I also work with resin pours and painting with watercolors.

"I have personally witnessed Kristi complete excellent designs for customers. Over the years I've known Kristi, her professional development has taken leaps and bounds to where she excels not only on small to medium size projects, but enterprise level projects as well. From training in new designers to delivering high quality designs, Kristi always meets the unique challenges of each project."
"I have seen Kristi grow and develop over the years as a designer. Her confidence and skills keep growing as she continually works to improve and develop both personally and professionally. I would highly recommend her to any company or organization that is looking for an individual with a growth mindset and a strong skill set."
"I've worked with Kristi for over two years now. One thing I can say about Kristi is that, without fail, she has a unique quality to put her head down and dive into her work. Even on those long-lasting, tough-client projects, she keeps her focus and gets the job done with a never ending positive attitude. She is a true team-player. On top of managing that heavy workload, she continues to grow and learn as a designer - refining her skills and expanding her knowledge every day."
I listen to the needs and desires of the client. I am comfortable having them watch while I work so they can see the product changes, resulting in reduced editing times and fewer meetings. I enjoy having clients watch me working inside the programs. Clients get to see the process applied to the changes. I've learned doing this cuts down time in making edits, pushing the finished product out faster.
Doesn't this result in a longer meeting time?
Yes. Time management is essential when I do this. If a client requests a change that may take longer, I'll let them know and apply the edits after the meeting. If they ask for a color change or a new font, I'll make the changes on the spot. If they ask for a photo edit or a new page, they will see those added to the proof they receive.
“Many hands make light work.” No one person can accomplish a project on their own. It takes teamwork between the client, designer, managers, developers, and everyone involved in the projects. Having extra sets of eyes to catch errors, input from folks viewing the design, and considering the data received. Designing is a team effort.
I have received harsh criticism. It usually happens when messages get crossed, and an element gets missed. To resolve this, I listen to the client's words, discuss options with them to achieve the end goals and develop a process to improve upon the criticisms received.
Criticism is a way to grow as a designer and as a person. There is always something new to learn and develop.
Yes, I do. You can find my resume on LinkedIn or message me below.
